COSTA DEGLI ETRUSCHI WINE TOUR

Your driver will come and pick you up at the hotel, villa, or residence hotel you’re staying and will accompany you in this experience.
Wine tours in the Costa degli Etruschi area are more possible when the visitors depart from Leghorn (like cruise passengers) or if they are staying in the south of Tuscany. Otherwise we have to consider a minimum of 10 hours for the tour. In any case, we advise the tour of 2 wine cellars and 1 or 2 towns among Castagneto Carducci, Bolgheri, Pitigliano, etc. depending on the itinerary and the estates booked.
We advise a tour of no more than 2 estates, perhaps having a light lunch at one of them.
Itinerary:
Departure from your hotel or from the port of Leghorn. Tour of the first estate where you go round the property, cellars and taste the wine, all with an explanation in your language. An estate worker will explain how the wine is produced, from harvest to bottling. Lastly, you will taste the wine they have told you about during the tour.
The second stop is the tour of Castagneto Carducci or Bolgheri or Donoratico or Castiglioncello, depending on the itinerary and what you are interested in. Probably you do not intend to see any town but only the local wine estates. If so, we go straight to the second wine estate, where we advise you to let us book you a light lunch so that you can taste their wine during a meal, clearly not before having seen the cellar and the property with a worker who will guide you through the tour.
The third stop, or intermediate stop between the first and the second, is a tour of one of the typical towns of the Costa degli Etruschi. At the end of the day, you will probably be happy to have a driver to take you from one place to another and then home.
In the Costa degli Etruschi area there are hundreds of wine bars organised by the Costa degli Etruschi Consortium. This is an association that controls various producers to make sure they comply with all the rules to be able to give their wine the coveted DOCG label. Here are some of the estates selected in the Costa degli Etruschi: Ornellaia, San Guado, Tenuta Argentiera, Azienda Agricola Tringali, le Macchiole, Scacciavolpe, Guado al Melo, Di Varia, Azienda Vitivinicola Jacopo Banti, Azienda Agricola Brancatelli.
